Phyllis A. Spalding, age 64, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Phyllis was born on December 29, 1947 in Abilene, TX the youngest of three children and only daughter of Emmett and Lorretta Cochran. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where she met her husband, Gerald Spalding, whom she married on July 24, 1971. They then moved to the Oshkosh area. Phyllis was employed by Garvens Bros. Bus Company in Omro until her ill health forced her to retire.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Gerald; sons: Michael (Toni) Spalding and Daniel (Tia) Spalding; grandchildren: Kira, Kaden and Colton; brothers: DuWayne (Jamie) Cochran and Larry (Connie) Cochran; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved friend, Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Lorretta.
The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St., Oshkosh, with Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
