Ralph J. Decker, age 90, a resident of Omro for the past 40 plus years, died peacefully Thursday morning, April 13, 2017, at the Omro Care Center. Ralph was born September 5, 1926 in Lake Church, WI, the son of Dominick and Christine (Eishen) Decker. He married Louise Mueller, September 25, 1948, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Decada, WI. She preceded him in death on April 13, 1995. Ralph was a finish carpenter by trade and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro. He loved hunting, ice fishing, gardening and listening and dancing to Polkas with his wife, Louise. Ralph was a true Packer and Brewer fan. He always enjoyed time spent with family especially at Christmas. One of his biggest joys was the recent celebration with his family of his 90th birthday. Ralph is loved and will be missed by his children, Barbara (Daniel) Meyer of Oshkosh, Mary Lou (David) Miller of Oshkosh, Linda (William) Minarik of Maryland, Catherine (John) Rossing of Arizona and Brenda Decker of Omro; grandchildren, Scott Meyer, Corey Meyer, Devon Minarik; great grandchildren, Lanie and Hudson; special friends who were like family, Jim Fay and Sr. Pam Biehl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; one brother and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Edward Looney and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Ralph will be laid to rest next to wife at Omro Cemetery. A memorial in his name is being established. The family would like to thank the staff at Generations Hospice for the excellent care given to Ralph.
