Ralph "Curley" Joseph Rushesky, age 99 of Oshkosh was born into eternal life on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Parkview Health Center. Born December 2, 1911 to Antone and Rose (Kubeshki) Rushesky in Oshkosh, he graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1929. On November 28, 1935 he married Cecilia Strelke and together they shared 73 years of marriage. Cecilia preceded Ralph in death on April 21, 2009.
For 37 years Ralph was a salesman for Heiss Bakery in Oshkosh and later worked at Dick Bros. Bakery of Manitowoc as a regional sales manager for 10 years. Retiring in 1977 gave Ralph the freedom to enjoy his favorite hobbies and activities more frequently such as fishing, bowling, playing cards and spending time with his family. Ralph loved playing Bingo with his family at Park View. He particularly loved driving his cars and was able to do so until the age of 97. Most of all Ralph was blessed to see his family grow to five-generations.
Those left to forever remember and love Ralph include his daughter, Rose M. Angle of Oshkosh; grandchildren, James (Diane) Angle III of Oshkosh, Rita (Darrel) Voight of Ripon, Gina (John) Eiden of Oshkosh, Lana (Dick Fernau) Angle of Ripon, Shawn (Rebecca) Angle of Oshkosh; great-grandchildren, James (Theresa) Angle IV, Theresa (fiancé Steve Mueller) Angle, Jonathan Eiden, Maria Eiden, Alex Angle, Olivia Angle; great-great grandsons, James Angle V and Noah Richard Angle. He is further survived by his sister, Paula (Ray) Commo of Fond du Lac, several nieces and nephews and his loving extended family at Parkview Health Center. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia; parents and sisters, Alice, Kathryn and Isabelle.
A memorial mass for Ralph will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 South Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh with Father Jason Blahnik officiating. The family will greet friends at church on Tuesday, April 12 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Ralph touched the lives of so many and gained an extended family at Parkview Health Center. He loved the entire staff, knowing everyone by name.
