Ralph W. "Doc" Strohschein, age 89, of Oshkosh, died Saturday morning, March 26, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on July 27, 1921, in Weyauwega to Henry and Alsetta (Leiby) Strohschein, Ralph married Ruth Arndt on June 15, 1944 in Neenah.
A veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, Ralph was later employed by Oshkosh Truck Corporation for 41 years (1943-1984) and retired as a Parts Coordinator. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the church's Usher's Club, Grace Forever Young, the Men's Club, and Dartball League.
Left to mourn Ralph's passing is his cherished wife of 66 years, Ruth Strohschein of Oshkosh; his beloved children, Debra (Herb) Scharfenberg of Van Dyne and David (Sandra) Strohschein of Oshkosh; a very special granddaughter, Teri Strohschein of Watertown; and two nieces and a nephew, Wanda, Ruthann, Jim, and their families. Preceding Ralph in death is his parents and two brothers, Arnold and Maynard Strohschein.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 913 Nebraska Street, with Reverend Chadwick Graham officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park where Military Honors will be given. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday from 12 Noon until service time at the church.
