Randal Lee Seiler, 57, of Oshkosh, died Thursday, August 27, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI. He was born December 27, 1957, in Watertown, SD to Clarice (Huffman) and Marlin Seiler. He graduated from Senachwine High School in 1976, then joined the US Air Force at age 18. From September 1976 to May 1986 he was a Fighter Crew Chief. While serving he was involved in the Iran Hostage Crisis. He met Sandra Haynes while they were both serving in Iceland and were married in Sumter, S.C. on February 1, 1985. Randy graduated from Embry Riddle University with an Aeronautics degree. He worked for General Dynamics and then at Air Wisconsin, which brought him to Wrightstown to raise his family. In Wrightstown he was a member and treasurer at St. John's Lutheran church and played in softball leagues. Randy then went to work for Esco, Inc., as a Safety Coordinator for ten years, then moved to Bemis in Oshkosh and was promoted quickly to Environmental Health and Safety manager.
Randy preferred to fish in his free time – most recently with his son, Anthony on the banks of Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh. He shared his love of deer hunting with all of his children and grandchildren. And spoke fondly of pheasant hunting in South Dakota with his cousins. Randy's grandchildren were the light of his life. They brought never-ending smiles to his face. He was a God fearing, hardworking man. He instilled the importance of hard work, love and laughter in everyone he met.
Randy is loved and will be missed by his wife, Sandra; by his children, Adam (Rebekah) Seiler, Benjamin Dean Seiler, Donald Ballard Jr. (Myah), Jeffrey Watson, Donovan Seiler, Donte Seiler, Bryan Cooper, Anthony Lee Seiler, Denise (Troy) Seiler, Danille (Ryan) Wiese, Holly (Ben) Wilson, Georgette (Casey) Wilson, Randi (Andy) Seiler, Doniesha (Mike) Staniak; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; his parents, Clarice Cold and Marlin and Ginny Seiler; brothers and sisters, Kent (Leslie) Seiler, Jay Seiler, Lori Hartwig, DeAnne (Brad) Rohloff, and Joan (Jim) Noramzcyk ; nieces, nephews and many friends.
A funeral service for Randy will be held at the Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St., Oshkosh, on Monday, August 31, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Berg and Nathan Ericson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. A memorial is being established.
