Randy P. Pommerening, Oshkosh, age 77, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh. He was born on September 22, 1947, in Neenah, WI, son of the late Donald "Red" and Dorothy (Hett) Pommerening. He enlisted in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and trained as a medic. He later worked in healthcare and as a machine operator at Square D in Oshkosh.
Randy enjoyed the simple things in life, including going for walks, fishing, doing yard work, attending classic car shows, and watching sports, especially the Packers, the NFL before instant replay, and horse racing. Randy and his two grandsons adored each other. Every time Randy saw his grandsons, he had a special surprise to give them.
Randy will be missed by his children, Traci (Kyle) Sorensen and Ryan Pommerening; his special friend and former spouse, Sandy Pommerening; his siblings, Bruce, Gary (Ruth), Jeff "Biddy" (Lu), Donna (Dan), and Kurt; and his grandsons, Finley "Finn" and Declan "Dec" Sorensen, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his best friend, Mike Coopman.
The family is going to hold a private service in accordance with Randy's wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Randy.
