Raymond Anthony "Ray" Grable, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, May 26, 2014. He was born in Oshkosh on May 4, 1929, to Anton and Alvera (Weber) Grable. He married Jeane Louise Ceelen on July 30, 1949. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, canoeing and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed sports, such as golfing and bowling and was involved in the semi-professional football team, "The Oshkosh Comets." Ray was a loving and caring person who enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends telling stories and enjoying life to the fullest.
Ray is survived by daughters, Victoria (Keith) Schmirler of Oshkosh, Joby (Patrick) Gray of Waupun, and Jeannie (Douglas) Bottine of Neenah; sons; Tim (Laurie) Grable of Oshkosh, David (Robin) Grable of Oshkosh, Anthony (Janet) Grable of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Chris (Kurt) Kamphuis, John Gray, Jessica Gray, Rebecca Gray, Kurt Grable, Katherine Grable, Danielle Grable, Stuart Grable, Daryl Grable, Stevie Grable, and Hannah Grable; 3 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Raymond is preceded by his parents; his wife, Jeane; and his brother, Richard (Virginia) Grable.
A visitation will be held Monday June 2, 2014, at Seefeld Funeral Home, 1025 Oregon St. from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with a service of remembrance beginning at 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Ray will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Ray's family would like to thank Shelly, Kelly, Karen and Stacy from Hospice for their exceptional care.
