Obituary

Raymond C. LaRose, age 85 of Oshkosh, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born September 24, 1925, the son of Clarence and Harriet (Wonders) LaRose. On June 1, 1946 he married Patricia Borsche and this year they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Raymond served with the United States Navy during World War II in the European Theater. He was part of the Normandy invasion in 1944 and made 36 landings at Normandy earning two battlestars. He was on an LST 539. During his working years, Raymond owned two taverns, the Pastime and Empire. Raymond also was a cab driver for Oshkosh Cab Company for many years. He was an avid Cubs fan, loved to play cribbage and travel, having been to every state except Alaska.
Raymond's memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Patricia of Oshkosh; sons, Steve (Jackie) LaRose of Greenville, Michael (Judy) LaRose of Uncasville, Connecticut; grandchildren, Kelly LaRose, Carrie LaRose, Michael (Belle) LaRose Jr., Gregory LaRose; great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Brandon. Raymond is further survived by his half-brothers, Eugene and Richard, as well as step-brother, Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents.
