Reinhold Russell Krueger, age 84, died peacefully at Aurora Hospital on January 20, 2022. He was born on August 20th, 1937, to Reinhold E. and Lydia Krueger. He always told everyone to call him Russell. He said he was called that from the day he came home from the hospital, he just never legally changed it to Russell. On February 29th, 1964, in Winneconne, he married Maureen B. Spanbauer.
He worked for E. R. Wagner's in Winneconne for over 30 years. He then worked for Oshkosh Truck until his retirement. His greatest joy was his Grandsons whether he was watching them play sports, hearing how they did hunting and fishing or just getting an update on their jobs and life.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen, daughter and son-in law, Lora and Marty Johnson, grandsons: Brandon Johnson and Andrew Johnson (Ashley Keuken -fiancé). He is also survived by his brother, Lawrence (Miriam) Krueger, sister, Gladys (David) Roland, brother-in-law, Mark (Leslie) Spanbauer, sister-in-law, Barbara Demler, nieces and nephews.
Russell was a Journeyman Tool & Maker by trade. He could fix almost anything. He was always coming up with new ideas on how to make things work better. He supported his brother-in-law when he raced boats and later he built hydraulic cylinders for ocean racing sail boats. He was proud to know that one of the cylinders he built was used in a World Cup race.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Dennis Demler.
Per his wishes, there will not be a service. Thank you to the Winneconne-Poygan First Responders, Oshkosh Fire and staff at Aurora for the care they provided to Russell.
