Reuben A. Grunske, age 95, of Oshkosh, died Sunday evening, May 9, 2004 at Bethel Home. He was born in the Town of Vinland on August 21, 1908, a son of the late Max and Alvina (Pollack) Grunske. Reuben married Grace Phillipps in Oshkosh on September 14, 1935. Grace preceded him in death on January 13, 1997.
Reuben was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Grunske Dairy for many years. From there, he contracted with many local farmers to haul milk to Kraft Foods in Omro. He later retired from Universal Foundry, and was a member of the UAW Retirees.
Reuben is survived by two sons, Du Wayne (Alice) Grunske, of Oshkosh, and Rodney (Darlene) Grunske, of Omro; four grandsons, Mike Grunske, Steve (Amy) Grunske, Robert Grunske and David (Heather) Grunske, all of Oshkosh; three granddaughters, Karen Noe and Sally (Steve) Weigandt, both of Oshkosh, and Pam (Paul) Dicke, of Hartford; two sisters, Ina Rasmussen and Goldie Grunske, both of Oshkosh, and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Grace, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Grunske, and two sisters, Sophie Rasmussen and Clara Grunske.
Funeral services for Reuben will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 761 Florida Avenue, with Reverend Mark Klaisner officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation time on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Seefeld Funeral & Cremation Services, 1025 Oregon Street, and again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established by Reuben's family.
