Obituary

Richard O. Egan, age 81, passed away at home on April 1,2018. He was born April 13, 1936, in Waukau, the son of Owen and Grace(Brewster) Egan. Dick married Shirley Ann Thomas (Ann) on July 6, 1957 at St.Mary Catholic Church in Omro. He worked and retired from Rockwell Internationalin Oshkosh after having worked as both a Machinist and an Industrial Engineer.He farmed for many years and worked for local canning companies in hisretirement. Dick was a fun-loving person, with a big heart and a quick wit. Hewould help anyone and enjoyed making and fixing things. He deeply loved hiswife Ann and cherished the time spent with her. They had a lifelong love of theoutdoors. They shared moose hunting in Canada, canoeing in the Boundary Waters,deer hunting, making maple syrup, if it took them outdoors they loved it. Dickwas a U.S. Veteran who served in the Air Force.

Dick is loved and will be missed by his sons, Dennis (Nancy)Egan of Green Bank, WV, and Dr. Jack (Evelyn) Egan of Plantation, Fl.; grandchildren,Emily, Benjamin, Mark and Sara; great granddaughter, Zaya; sister, Nan (Andy)Amend; brothers and sisters in law, James (Joyce) Thomas, Kathleen (James)Campbell, Jack Sullivan, Greg (Ellen) Kroll, and Ken Pryne; his friend, HarrietHenke; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann onApril 26, 2007; his parents, Owen and Grace Egan; brother, David; sisters,Bernice Pryne, Doris Kroll and Marilyn Sullivan; mother and father in law, J."Pete and Muriel (McLaughlin) Thomas; and sister in law,Patricia Larsen.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday,April 6, 2018, at the funeral home in Omro from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. andthen again on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 MadisonAve., Omro, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 Noon with Fr. Tom Longand Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Dick willbe laid to rest next to his wife at Omro Cemetery.
