Richard W. Holz, age 81, of Omro, passed away Friday morning, May 13, 2016, at home surrounded by the love of his family. Richard was born April 27, 1935, in Oshkosh, the son of Edward and Marian (McDonald) Holz. He married Carolyn Peterson on September 19,1959. Richard was Past President of the Oshkosh Ice Fishing Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, loved playing Schafkopf (Sheephead) and always looked forward to family vacations at Lake Emily. Richard served in the Army National Guard from 1952-1958 and was a member of American Legion Post 234.Richard is loved and will be missed by his wife, Carolyn; children, Diane, Cindy (Steve) Monroe, Dave (Missi); 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Keith of Zephyr Hills Florida; sister, Peggy(Ernie) Babbitz of Oshkosh; specia friend and brother in law, Royal Peterson. He is further survived by special uncle, Wayne Mc Donald, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special family friend, Jenny Kolb. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Royal.Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev.
