Obituary

Richard A. Lager, age 71, of rural Omro, died Sunday evening, July 20, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Rich was born April 19, 1937, in Milwaukee, the son of Anton and Mary Mutala Lager. Rich had served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 to 1957. Rich loved the outdoors, including watching birds, fishing, and walking on the beach. He very much enjoyed going on casino trips with Carole. Rich had lived in Milwaukee for many years and retired as the shipping and receiving manager at Sears in Milwaukee. He married Carole on March 25, 1990 in Las Vegas and together they moved and made Omro their home in 1996.

Rich is lovingly survived by his wife, Carole; sister, Arlene (Elmer) Brown; brother, Ronald (Joanne) Lager; step children, Linda (Kevin) Cowan and family, Emmett (Chris) Apel and family and Sandra (Greg) Raschig and family. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many dear friends and three daughters, Vicky, Cristy and Michelle.

In respect to Rich's memory, the family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church, 955 N. Webster Ave., Omro, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Edward Slusser officiating. Military honors will follow the service at church by the American Legion Post #234 of Omro.

DIRECTIONS TO FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

From Milwaukee, take Hwy 41 North to Oshkosh
Exit Hwy 21 West to Omro
Come into Omro approximately 8 miles
Go all the way through Omro and turn right at the stop and go sign and take the bridge over the river (American Bank and Cheese House on left)
At stop and go lights at the bottom of the bridge, turn right on River Dr. also known as Hwy. 116
Go several blocks and turn left on Webster Ave or County Road F (same road) (American Family Ins. Office on corner)
Several blocks down, County Road F veers off to the left and turns into Poygan Road (DO NOT VEER LEFT)
Keep going straight on Webster Ave., until it comes to the end.
