Richard "Rick" Paape, of Brownsville, age 53, fulfilled God's plan on July 7, 2005, while being cared for at All About Life in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Rick was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin on February 16, 1952 to Frank and Frances (Nyswonger) Paape, and grew up in the shadow of the Packer Stadium in Green Bay. He was a realtor with Coldwell Banker. Rick enjoyed traveling and hiking with his family in the Black Hills. He raised birds for many years. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Brownsville. He was a recent member of the Brownsville Lions Club. His passion was building and flying remote control airplanes.
Rick is survived and will be missed by his wife of 34 years, Kathleen of Brownsville. His children, Kristin (Phillip) Kifer and Steven Paape and granddaughter, Lexie, all of Brownsville; his mother, Fran Paape; his brother, Ron (Carolyn) Kading; sisters, Sandy Boswell and Terry (Ken) Largent; parents in-law, Bob and Dolores Heiland; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Paape.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2005 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., Omro, WI , from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday July 9, 2005 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at the corner of Highland Ave. and Clark St. in Brownsville from 9:00 am till the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am with Reverend William Carter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery, Brownsville. A memorial is being established.
