Richard R. Paffenroth, age 78, of Green Lake and formerly of Madison, died Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born on December 18, 1926 in Oshkosh to Conrad and Katherine Paffenroth. Richard married Corrine H. Gast at Saint Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on September 11, 1954.
Richard was employed at SCM Corporation in Madison for 22 years and later for several years at Wisconsin Power & Light in Madison. He served in the U.S. Armed Services during WWII from 1944-1945. He was a long-time member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church in Madison, and since moving to Green Lake he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon.
Richard is survived by his wife, Corrine of Green Lake; three daughters: Dawn (Al) Folker of Green Lake, Wendy (John) Field of Stone Lake, Wisconsin, and Bonnie (Bill Willits) Paffenroth of Alma, Colorado; four grandchildren: Jessica, Monika, Erik, and Kale Folker of Green Lake. He is further survived by one sister: Louise Kolaske of Oshkosh; one brother: Herman Paffenroth of Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law: Beatrice Pfaffenroth of Oshkosh and Ramona (Victor) Timm of Appleton; three brothers-in-law: Bernard Martin of Oshkosh; Ted (Arlene) Gast of Hancock; and William (Vi) Gast of Algona, Iowa; other relatives and many friends. Preceding Richard in death are his parents; five brothers: John, Conrad, Alvin, William, and Reuben Paffenroth; and two sisters: Marie Heller and Clara Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 12:00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold Street, Ripon, Wisconsin. A time of visitation and support will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
