Richard B. "Rick" Rasey, age 53, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Rick was born on September 8, 1958 to Francis and Joyce (Hawley) Rasey in Oshkosh. He was educated in Oshkosh, and was in the first class to graduate from Oshkosh North High School. He was an avid photographer in high school. He thoroughly enjoyed being an outdoorsman, hunting and fishing; being active in the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and Springbrook Sportsmen's Club. He was quite talented at restoring old cars, and did the autobody work in his own garage.
Rick was loved and will be missed by his mother, Joyce Rasey of Madison; his sisters, Laurie (Bruce) Rasey-Reynolds of Oshkosh and Donna (Don Smith) King of Madison; his brother, David Rasey of Oshkosh; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Nathan, Caroline, Christina, Alyssa, and Joseph; great nieces and nephews; dear friend, Bob Weber, Jr.; and many friends and extended family. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Francis; nephew, William and beloved dog Thumper.
Visitation for Rick will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Community Church, 2351 Ryf Road, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Alan Cleveland officiating.
