Richard F. Schettl, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He was born in Oshkosh on June 5, 1933, the son of the late Ferdinand and Evelyn (Kirschling) Schettl. Richard was proud to serve in the U.S. Army. He met Janet Challoner at a dance and they were married on August 31, 1956 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Oshkosh. Richard owned and operated Schettl's Painting and Home Maintenance for many years. Over the course of his life he enjoyed roller skating, dancing and boating. Richard will be remembered for his skill in being a capable handyman.

Richard is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Randal (Mary) Schettl; granddaughter, Samantha Schettl; and brothers and sister: Harold Schettl, Melvin (Gail) Schettl, Diane (Steve) Wilsey and Ronald (Diana) Schettl. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herbert (Mildred) Schettl and Earl Schettl; and sister-in-law, Betty Schettl.

A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home with Deacon Paul Vidmar officiating. Burial will be in Omro Cemetery, Omro.
