Richard R. Spanbauer, of Oshkosh, age 84, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was born in Oshkosh on October 3, 1931 the son of the late George and Leona (Fernidand) Spanbauer. On March 21, 1952 he married his wife of 63 years, Barbara Gustavus, in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2015. Richard retired from Leach Company on January 31, 1994 after 38 years of service. Richard enjoyed bowling with Barbara, occasional casino visits, trips with the family, and fishing. He will be remembered for his smile and wonderful voice.
Richard is survived by his children: Carole Spanbauer, Robert (Peg) Spanbauer, Nancy (Glenn) Delzer, Christine (Tony) Doro and Charles (Deb) Spanbauer; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ruth Luther. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Spanbauer; brothers: Elmer and Kenneth (Marian) Spanbauer; and sister, Anita (Keith) Davis.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Seefeld Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 19 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.
