Rita Luella Dexter, age 91, joined our Lord on Monday, February 26, 2018 with all five children watching her take her last breath. Her passing was peaceful. She was called to Heaven and is now free from pain. She was born in Maple Creek, WI on April 27, 1926, the daughter of the late Elvin and Mabel (Fainff) Finger. In 1946 she married Richard Frank who preceded her in death. In 1956 she married Lee Dexter who preceded Rita in death in 2002. Rita enjoyed caring for people and was involved in elder care, foster care, and Catering. She was also known to raise, breed and groom poodles. Crafting, and wood working were among her favorite activities. Rita will be remembered for her quick wit. She touched people's hearts and had a unique way of drawing people in. Family and dear friends were truly blessed to enjoy her beautiful soul, sense of humor, kindness and most of all her love.
Rita is survived by her children: Cherie (Dennis) Viegut of Appleton, Sheila (Mike) Walden of Parkforest, IL, Dean (Bonnie) Frank of Scandinavia, Debbie (Arlie) Williford of Goleta, CA, and Jessie (Bill) Soto of Appleton; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends: Fay and Rick Sutter, Ken Bass, and Renee Oron. She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; sisters: Beatrice (Clarence) Bellin and Vecilda (Lambert) Young; and two brothers at birth.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the celebration of life at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 370 Bowen St., Oshkosh, with Rev. Kelly Leary officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville at a later date. Memorials in Rita's name will be given to her favorite charities.
The family extends a special thank you to Tom and Mary Keefe, especially for the roses they sent every year.
We were fortunate to have Mom in our lives for a long-time. She will now be in our hearts and the Arms of our Lord, forever.
