Rita Ruth Morris, age 79, ice cream connoisseur, critter whisperer, and St. Francis of our time, accepted a position as heaven's eternal animal hospitality coordinator on Thursday evening, December 11, 2014. Her husband Robert and daughter Kristen were there to send her with excellent references.Rita was born July 4, 1935, in the town of Princeton to Elmer and Elda Kuglin. She graduated from Princeton High School and became a telephone operator for Ma Bell and later a switchboard operator and receptionist at Berlin Hospital. One fortunate summer's day, Rita rode a train from Fond du Lac to Milwaukee with some friends. They introduced her to Robert Morris. Rita and Robert had a good ride for 53 years. They were married at the little white church in Princeton, WI on May 20, 1961.Rita is survived by her beloved felines, Hank and Lily; her husband, Robert of Berlin; her daughter, Reverend Kristen Lowe and granddaughter, Hannah Ruth Lowe of Waunakee, WI, and a brother Duane (Lowita) Kuglin of Markesan. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elda Kuglin.Rita enjoyed the ongoing adventures of her pride and joy, granddaughter, Hannah Ruth or "Hannah Bell", caring for God's creatures, swimming with her friends at the Berlin pool, going for long walks, watching westerns, stamping and sending cards, playing piano and spending time with her daughter Kristen. Rita was very active at Berlin United Methodist Church and later enjoyed Waukau United Methodist Church. Her faith was a deep part of her life.The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Waukau United Methodist Church, Hwy 116, Waukau from 3:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at church at 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Sukhyun Jung officiating. In lieu of flowers, Rita asked that memorials go to the Green Lake Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 86, Green Lake, WI 54941 and Waukau United Methodist Church. A special Thank You to Denise Nelson and TLC Homecare for all their loving support and care given to Rita and her family. Rita's future endeavors include coming back as a spoiled house cat.
