Robert James "Bobby" Barkelar, Jr. age 45, died surrounded by his family and friends due to complications of a stroke, on Friday, October 22, 2010 in Northridge, California. Born on March 18, 1965, the son of Robert and Marjorie (Linnane) Barkelar, Sr., Bobby graduated from Oshkosh North High School in 1983. He moved to California many years ago and was a hair stylist for most his life.
Bobby had a generous and kind heart. His dog Hollywood was his loyal companion and pride and joy. Country music was his favorite type of music and Dolly Parton was his favorite singer.
Bobby will be forever remembered by his siblings, Michael (Gail) of Sheboygan, Craig (Debra) of Madison, Harry (Bonnie) of Plainfield, Illinois, Lynn (David) Ihrig of Winneconne, Lisa Barkelar, Lori (John) Kloehn and Amy Barkelar all of Oshkosh. He is further survived by his nephew, Nathan Ihrig for whom he was Godfather; 10 other nieces and nephews; step-mother Alberta Graham and many special friends both here and in California. In addition to his parents and grandparents, Bobby was preceded in death by aunts, uncles and his dog, Hollywood.
