Robert Edward Egan, age 93, of Omro, died peacefully Wednesday evening, December 7, 2016, at Omro Care Center with family by his side. He was born February 8, 1923, on the family homestead in Omro, the son of Edward and Dorothy (Loewen) Egan. Bob had attended Blue Bell School and was a 1940 graduate of Omro High School. He married Dorothy Lisbeth at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh on August 22, 1959. Bob was a dairy farmer his entire life. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed football and baseball. He also enjoyed bowling, classical music, reading, playing cards and spending time on the farm and with his family. Bob was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro, where he served as an Altar Boy, was President of the Holy Name Society and was one of the first members of the original Parish Council. He also had served as President of the Omro High School FFA.Bob is loved and will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; children, John (Sheri), James (Kimberly), Ann (Steven) Koss and Christopher; grandchildren, Hannah (Brad) Vowels, Edward and Madeline Egan; Robert, Nicholas, Kathryn, Wallace, Josephine and Virginia Egan; Adam (Kristen) Koss, Joshua Koss, Paul and Joseph Egan; great grandchild, Raelynn Koss; his sister, Sr. Sylvia Egan; brothers-in-law, Joseph Binder and Robert Lisbeth; sisters-in-law, Mary Locke, Pat Lisbeth and Rosemary Ruppel. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; sisters, Kathryn Binder and Mary Jane Fox; mother and father-in-law, Clement and Anna Lisbeth; stepson, Richard Lisbeth; brothers-in-law, Harold Fox, Clement Lisbeth, Arden Ruppel, Robert Drexler and sister-in-law, Margaret Drexler.The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at the funeral home in Omro from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. and then again on Monday, December 12, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison St., Omro, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Edward Looney and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the Mass and then burial will follow at Omro Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Bob's name for St. Mary's Church.The family would like to give special thanks to Almost Family Home Health Care, Affinity Hospice Care, the staff at Omro Care Center and all the family and friends that have touched Bob's Life.Bob will be missed by all who knew him.
