Robert Roy Fink, Sr. age 73, of Eureka, died unexpectedly, Friday, December 16, 2005 at home. He was born May 12, 1932, in Oshkosh, WI., the son of Roy and Helen (Young) Fink. He was raised and attended school in Omro. He enlisted in the Army in August of 1949, served 18 months in Korea and was honorably discharged in September of 1952. Bob was married to the love of his life, Vernita Larsen, on June 13, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Omro.
They lived in Eureka their entire married life where they raised five wonderful children: Robert Jr. (Patty), Ron (Marilyn), Terri (Jon) Groth, Lori (Tom) Gehrke and Darcie (Dennis) Wisnefske. They in turn gave them fourteen grandchildren, Eric (Robin) Fink, Dan (Tracy) Fink, Darla Fink, Cody and Casey Fink, Evan and Tara Groth, Bobbie Jo (Chris) Herman, Chris Gehrke, Ryan and Amy Herbst, Cassandra and Brittany Wisnefske, Alissa (Travis) Murray; six great grandchildren: Tyler, Alec, Grady, Reid, Paige and Michael; one brother, Roy (Joan) Fink; two sisters, Sandra (Jim) Kettelwell and Carol Fink; Mother in law, Winnie (Fred) Applebee; Brothers in law, Ken (Helen) Larsen, Richard (Sharon) Larsen, Dean (June) Larsen, Inert (Lori) Larsen, Rex Larsen, Fred (Linda) Applebee, Steve (LeAnn) Applebee, Chris (Jill) Applebee; Sisters in law, Rogene Larsen, Laurel (Cully) Franz, Diane Campbell, Linda Triechel, Robin Larsen, Kathy (John) Spanbauer, Sheila Fink and Susie Hammes. Bob is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Helen Fink; 2 brothers and a sister in law, Aaron Fink and Jerry and Suzanne Fink; one sister and brother in law, Dorothy (Vilas) Larson; his father in law, Ken Larsen and one granddaughter, Rachel.
Bob served as a Trustee at the Baptist Church until it closed in 1980. He then joined the First Presbyterian Church in Omro where he served as Elder, Usher, and all around handy man. He was a charter member of the Eureka Snowmobile Club and enjoyed this sport for many years. He helped organize the Eureka Daze Committee, who worked hard to put play ground equipment in the Eureka Park. He put in many years helping at the Waukau Youth Building and where ever else he was needed. God now has a very good and willing handy man in Heaven. Bob worked in factories his entire adult life. He worked for Leach Co., Oshkosh Truck, Speed Queen and retired from Rockwell in 1994.
In respect to Bob's memory, Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19, 2005 at the funeral home in Omro from 4-8 P.M. and then again on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Omro from 10 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Edward Slusser officiating. Burial will follow in the Eureka Cemetery.
