Robert A. "Bob" Fredin, age 84, of Oshkosh, died Monday afternoon, November 9, 2015, at his home. Born on October 21, 1931, in Antigo, Wisconsin, the son of Albert and Vernice (Nickolai) Fredin, Bob married Anna Dominik on January 7, 1953, in Berlin, Germany. Anna preceded Bob in death on December 12, 2008.
A veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army, Bob later was employed by the State of Wisconsin in Waupun as a Corrections Officer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auto mechanics, and residential architectural design.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Spanbauer of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Alexander of Oshkosh, Gwenevere (Nick) Dickson of Estherville, Iowa, Nathaniel, Vineca, and Makenzie all of Oshkosh; two great-grandchildren, Riley and Danica Dickson; a sister-in-law, Barbara Fredin of Oshkosh; and his beloved cats. Preceding Bob in death are his parents and a brother, William Fredin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Interment will take place at Omro Cemetery with full Military Honors. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
