Robert R. "Bob" Shugars, age 90, of Oshkosh, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on March 14, 1920 in Milwaukee to David and Pearl (Einfeldt) Shugars, Bob married Patricia Adams on October 17, 1953 in Kimberly.
Employed by AAA for many years as an Insurance Agent, Bob was a very personable individual who enjoyed helping people. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church and Session member, was active with the Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls, Junior Bowling, and doing woodworking projects for his grandchildren. Bob was a part-time projectionist at Marcus Theaters for many years. During WWII, Bob served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Italy.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 57 years, Patricia Shugars of Oshkosh; three children, Richard (Deb) Shugars of Spencer, Iowa, Cathy (Randy) Furman of Oshkosh, and Wendy Shugars of Madison; 10 grandchildren, Heather Furman, Andy (Amanda) Furman, Adam Furman, Christie (Todd) Menzel, Becky DeBroux, Katie (Aaron) Gove, Mary DeBroux, Jared Hahn, David Shugars, Ashley (Jon) Sturgis, Cassie (Aaron) Hogue, and Beau Neucomb; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Ave., with Reverend Thomas Willadsen officiating. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
