Obituary

Robert Paul Roesler was born September 10, 1955 at Mercy Hospital to Henry and Muriel (Thompson) Roesler. He was baptized and confirmed at Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh. He attended elementary and secondary schools in Oshkosh, and graduated from West High School in 1973.He started work at Nolte's gas station and garage as part of a co-op program and worked there while finishing school and for a few years after, later working for Universal Motors, briefly, and then working for Oshkosh Corporation for 27 years, followed by working for Keenline Conveyors of Omro for several years. He was married to Kathy Hebert on July 13, 1974 and they had two sons together, Robert Paul Roesler, Jr. and John Russell Roesler. They later divorced. He had a kind of quirky sense of humor which could brighten the day and sometimes catch one by surprise. In his younger days, he very much enjoyed visiting his grandpa, Russel Thompson, "up on the farm", near Taylor, WI and his grandma, Vera Thompson, before her early death, as well as his relatives in Milwaukee; great grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. There was also Aunt Sandra, and her family, and other relatives that were dear.In later years, his life became more difficult, but he could still enjoy hearing about and seeing his grandchildren, Paige, Derek, and Tyler Roesler, the children of Bob Jr. and Wendy, as well as visits with friends and other family, such as his sisters, Karen and Kristen and others. He had one very special friend, from the age of two, Tom Miller, as well as others from school days and work, who gladdened his heart over the years. As time went on, he remained a faithful visitor with his parents and helped when he could which was a lot especially when he was younger, and would stop after work, or whenever he saw something that needed doing, so that things would run smoothly. He continued being a regular visitor until a few days before his death, and his visits were always a bright spot and much looked forward to.His life ended at his home in Omro on March 8, 2016.A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home, 425 Jefferson Ave., Omro, WI, Monday, March 14, with Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.May God grant you peace, dear Bob.
