Robert "Bob" Wayne Truman, age 82 died at Mercy Medical Center on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. He was born on January 8, 1928 to Merrill and Eunice (Griffith) Truman. On December 21, 1962 he married Gladys Taylor.
Bob graduated in 1957 from the Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College. He worked for his father in the heating business, specializing in sheet-metal work. He met his wife while working with Sudan Interior Missions in New York. They then moved to Pennsylvania where he again worked with sheet-metal. After a few years there, he returned to Michigan and opened his own business as a heating contractor.
Bob was a man who loved God and wanted to serve Him with his life. He and Gladys were members of First Baptist Temple since the early 1990's. He could make anything, but specialized in boats. He loved his family, fishing, hunting, and animals; especially dogs.
Surviving Bob is his wife of 48 years, Gladys Truman; daughter, Deborah (Roy) Perkins; granddaughter, Amy Perkins; and siblings: Bill (Florence) Truman, Barbara (Herb) Hemmes, Rose Marie (Melvin) Wilson, and Kenneth (Cherie) Truman.
A funeral service for Bob will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at First Baptist Temple, 138 Church Avenue. A time for visiting and sharing memories will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Omro Cemetery.
