Obituary

Robert E. Ziegenhagen, age 88, of Oshkosh, died in his sleep peacefully Saturday, March 5, 2005 at home. He was born on May 25, 1916 in Oshkosh to Robert and Emilie (Blank) Ziegenhagen. Bob married Rosemary Howlett on March 29, 1952 at St. John's rectory and she preceded him in death on January 12, 1980.
Bob graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1936. He was a member of the Elk's Club and also a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He owned and operated Bob's Service Station for 35 years, was Vice-President of Jackson Oil Company, then retired from his dairy farm in 1995. He enjoyed volunteering at the Elk's Club on Bingo night especially flirting with the ladies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved meeting new people.
Survivors include ten children: David (Bonnie) Ziegenhagen of Oshkosh; Dan (special friend Cathy Cummings) Ziegenhagen of Oshkosh; Lois (James) Chock of Neenah; Sue Ziegenhagen of Neenah; Sally (special friend Terry Tesch) Ziegenhagen of Oshkosh; Jean (Jim) Schultz of Menasha; Grace (Tom) Radig of Oshkosh; Robbie (special friend Doug Zerbe) Ziegenhagen of Oshkosh; Lenore (Joseph) Molenda of Neenah; and Honorary son, Joseph Endres of Iola, Wisconsin. Grandchildren include: Debbie (Jerry) Heise of Oshkosh; David (Brandy) Ziegenhagen of Appleton; Dana Ziegenhagen of Oshkosh; Jodie, Amanda, and Matt Ziegenhagen of Oshkosh; Jennifer Chock of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois; Jaime Chock of Neenah; Katharine (special friend Chase Laffea) of Honolulu, Hawaii; Sarah (fiancee Rodney Lesnick) McLaren of Appleton; John, Robert and Adam McLaren of Oshkosh; Ralph (Tracy) Raatz of Oshkosh; Debra (Russ) Hamann of Oshkosh; Patricia (Doug) McClure of Omro; Kevin (Deanna) Raatz of Appleton; Amy Wheeler of Oshkosh; John, Molly, Jacklyn and Stacy Radig of Oshkosh; Ali Zerbe of Oshkosh; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceding Bob in death are his parents and wife Rosemary.
Funeral services for Robert E. Ziegenhagen will be held on Thursday, March 10th, at 11:00 A.M. in Peace Lutheran Church, 240 West 9th Avenue, with Reverend Milton Staskal officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8:00 P.M. at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 300 North Eagle Street. An Elk's Service will take place at 6:00 P.M. The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice and a special thanks to Ellen Loker and Patsy Beck.
