Roger J. Braasch Sr., age 79, of Omro, died Saturday afternoon, July 30, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on December 19, 1936, the son of Harry and Lorraine (Luebke) Braasch, Roger married Marian Benedict on October 29, 1955. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958.A semi-truck driver, Roger drove for over 25 years for Morgan Door Company. He was a life-long hunter and fisherman. Roger enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marian Braasch; his children, Dawn (Dan) Rymer, Roger Braasch Jr., Lorraine (Randy) Larson, Brenda (Jerry) Coats, Susan Braasch, James Braasch, and Pam (Bruce) Salzer; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry (Mary) Braasch; two sisters-in-law, Pat and Roxana Braasch; four brothers-in-law, Dan (Arlene) Benedict, Bill (Diane) Benedict, Delos Benedict, and Bob (Sally) Benedict; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Roger in death are his parents; two brothers, Richard and Ronald; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Robert Miller; and two sisters-in-law, Gloria Benedict and Arlene BenedictA Celebration of Life will be held at the Omro-Rushford Fire Department on Saturday, August 13, 2016, for 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the Omro-Rushford Fire Department and First Responders, the nurses, doctors, and aides from the second floor at Mercy Medical Center, and Affinity Visiting Nurses for their support and tender care of Roger. Also a thank you to Dr. Lance Zernzach and staff at Aurora Health Care for all they did for him.
