Obituary

Ronald Moriearty was called to the Lord after a long battle with many health issues. He was born and raised in Omro, WI. Ronald was the son of Bernard and Helen (Peterson) Moriearty. He was one of the five children that they raised.

Ron married his wife, Rose on May 26 1979; they were married for 42 years. Ron had three children. His son, Ned (Daisy) Moriearty from Las Vegas, NV, preceded him in death in 2021. He is survived by his children: Andrea (Tim) Dillie of Markesan, WI, and Cody (Claire) Moriearty of Verona, WI; grandchildren: Aaron Laio of Las Vegas, NV, Tristan and Gavin Dillie of Markesan, WI, Isla and Bennett Moriearty of Verona, WI; many nieces and nephews that he loved; god-children: Sarah (Schilling) Roth and Austin Padilla; and brothers: Wayne (Ardene) Moriearty of Neshkoro, WI and Neil Moriearty of Manitowoc, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters: Muriel Larson and Barbara Blythe.

While in high school Ron was in a five piece polka band where he played the accordion in his free time. After he graduated from high school he enlisted and served in the Army. He talked about how he enjoyed seeing Germany and France. He talked a lot about Paris and how beautiful it was.

Ron retired from Precast Concrete Specialties in 2005, and after retirement he worked part time for the City of Omro, cutting grass at the Omro Cemetery for a few years. Ron loved the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He had a love for snowmobiling and he had Harleys throughout the years until his health got the better of him. He had a love for oil paintings and did many portraits for family and friends. He would get a bottle of wine and create a painting in one sitting. Ron was a perfectionist with his work.

Ron was a man of few words, but if you got him started on history or his love for his sports cars in his younger days he could talk forever. He was very proud of being Irish, so of course St. Patrick's Day was his favorite holiday. He loved his children and what they accomplished in their lives. He didn't always tell them in person, but he sure bragged about them to his friends. His favorite song all his life was by Louis Armstrong, "What a Wonderful World." So whenever you hear this song, remember your friend and loved one, Ron.

A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Kwiatkowski Funeral Home. Military Honors will follow.
