Obituary

Rose M. "Rosey" Griedl, age 89, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born on February 15, 1915 in Berlin, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Gottfred and Ann Elizabeth (Wiemer) Schmunk. She married Andrew Griedl on November 23, 1938 in Oshkosh. Andrew preceded her in death on August 20, 1982.
Rose was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She had worked for many years and retired from the Park View Health Care Center. She greatly enjoyed gardening, cooking and always kept things tidy. She will also be remembered for freely offering help to others as needed.
Survivors include a nephew, Robert (Muriel) Schmunk of Omro; two nieces, Phyllis Christensen of Illinois and Arlene Clark of Batavia, Illinois; a nephew, Thomas (Kathy) Lovell of Hailey, Idaho; a sister in law, Marion Griedl of Oshkosh. She is further survived by great-nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friend, Lorraine Spanbauer. She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Lovell and a brother, Alex Schmunk.
Family and friends may call at the Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street today, Friday, June 18, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at which time services will be held for Rose with the Reverend Gerald Nerenhausen officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery next to her beloved husband Andrew. A memorial fund is being established.
