Russell F. Much, age 81, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday morning, January 2, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on March 17, 1925 in Oshkosh to Fred and Lillian (Krause) Much. Russell married Elda Sang in 1942 and she preceded him in death.


Russell was employed by Leach Company as a machinist before his retirement. He was a member of Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church and the VFW. Russell was an automotive fan and he enjoyed time traveling to western states with his wife. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.


Survivors include a sister, Elaine (George) Schneider of Oshkosh; a brother, Eugene Much of Oshkosh; a half-sister, Audrey (Robert) Veach of Oshkosh; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Russell in death are his parents and a sister, Jeanette Dahms.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd., with Reverends Jeffrey Berg and Nathan Ericson officiating. Interment will follow the services at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and support will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
