Obituary

Ruth C. Bauer, 92 years young, spent her life at the "little house" with her loving family nurturing and supporting her at which time she lifted into the heavens to be reunited with the love of her life, Richard on Monday, May 7, 2012.

Ruth was born October 31, 1919 in the Town of Black Wolf, Winnebago County. She was the daughter of the late Harvey & Caroline (Ruedinger) Nachtrab. She married Richard Leo Bauer on Nov. 7, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Omro. Ruth was a member of St. Mary's in Omro. A lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 70, Lifetime Future Farmer's of America (FFA) member. She was a homemaker and farm wife. Employed at Oshkosh B'Gosh for 10 years (sewing Army pants pockets for the WWII servicemen), Standard Kolsman, and part-time employee at Miles Kimball for 8 years. Ruth was a volunteer caring companion for Mercy Medical Hospital--Oshkosh.

For the last few weeks the family members that watched her get ready to leave to join the love of her life include son, Roman R. Bauer of rural Oshkosh, son and daughter-in-law David J. Bauer & Jane (Albright)Bauer of Omro. Three grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jason (Tricia) Bauer, Jaci, Leah, and Austin—Omro; Jodi (Jim) Ihrig, Anthony and Danny—Van Dyne; Josh (Ann) Bauer, Joshua, Hailee, and Brady—Omro.

Survivors are 1 sister, Lasetta Braatz—Brandon; 1 sister-in-law, Elda Nachtrab—Clintonville, 3 Godsons, Gerald Richard Braatz—Brandon; Terrance Richard Nachtrab—Pine River; Scott David Nachtrab—Omro.

She was welcomed into heaven by the love of her life, Richard; brothers, Joseph Nachtrab, Frank (Rosemary) Nachtrab; sister, Frances Nachtrab; brother-in-law, Lyle Braatz; sister-in-law, Lorraine Nachtrab; brother-in-laws, Joseph (Myrtle) Bauer, Henry Bauer; sister-in-laws, Sister Mathildas Bauer; Agnes (Tom) Siebanhaar.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave, Omro WI 54963 with Sister Pam Biehl and Father Doug LeCaptain officiating. Celebration of Life for Ruth will be at 11:00 a.m. with burial to be held at the Omro Cemetery.
