Ruth D. Joslin, age 75, of Oshkosh, died Thursday morning, June 16, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on October 12, 1929 in Oshkosh to Peter and Katherine (Schuermann) Ruhl. Ruth married Harley Joslin on May 27, 1950 in Oshkosh.
Ruth was a 1948 graduate of Oshkosh High School. Upon graduation she worked for the Wisconsin Telephone Company for several years as a switchboard operator. After her children grew up she worked for a few years as night manager of Sawyer Street Super Value.
Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed many of the church activities. She especially enjoyed singing in the church choir. Ruth enjoyed needle craftwork, especially embroidering. She would make beautiful tablecloths that took months to complete and then give them to loved ones.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years: Harley Joslin of Oshkosh; three sons: Randall (Susan) Joslin of Ennis, Texas; Steven (Cindy) Joslin of Oshkosh; Brian (Barbara) Joslin of Greendale, Wisconsin; one daughter: Lynn Olson of Mosinee, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren: Amy Joslin, Ben Joslin, Melissa Joslin, Miranda Joslin, Matt Olson, Jenny Schriner, R.J. Olson; six great-grandchildren: Brittanie, Devin, Nathan, Liam, Maddy, and Tyler; two sisters: Joan (Glen) Williams of Fond du Lac; Rose (Earl) Koch of Elma, Washington; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ruth in death are her parents; three sisters: Katherine, Mary, and Lydia; five brothers: Peter, John, Harvey, Robert, and Rudolph; and one great-grandson: Brandon Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 North Eagle Street, with Reverend David Pagel officiating. Interment will follow the services at Lake View Memorial Park. A time of visitation and support will be held on Monday from 11:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church.
