Sandra A. Hannis, age 71, of Oshkosh, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital due to complications of heart surgery on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. She was born on August 31, 1944 the daughter of the late Morris and Garnett (McCue) Toms. On July 2, 1966 she married her husband of 49 years, Jerry Hannis, at Grace Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. Sandy is known for owning "The Tiger's Den" and "Jerry's Bait and Tackle" with Jerry. She enjoyed: shooting pool, softball games, camping, music, the occasional Coors Light, playing cards, watching the Packer games, baking, and being with family and friends. Sandy will be remembered for her tenacity, strong will and spirit.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Jerry; brother, Rick (Cindy) Rates; nephews: Christopher Rates and his children: Alyssa and Connor Rates, and Jeremy Gruse; niece, Kelly Rates; cousins: Danny Cartwright, Jackie (Ardie) Anderson, Kathy (Mike) Hanson, Pat Bouras, Mike McCue, Terry Angle; and Randi, Sharon and Andrea; and many friends.
The funeral service will be at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Seefeld Funeral Home. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Waukau Cemetery.
