Sharon (nee Wollangk) Jowett
Sharon Jowett passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010, at Evergreen Retirement Community after a lengthy illness. She was born in Oshkosh to Gilbert and Helen (Greenman) Wollangk on January 7, 1944. Sharon worked for the telephone company, then Oshkosh B'Gosh for 29 years and finally the EAA before retiring. She has been a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Donald Jowett took her hand in marriage on December 5, 1981. Together they shared a passion for the Warbirds as Sharon spent 33 years as a volunteer with the EAA Warbirds of America. She was in the AMVETS Auxiliary supporting Don.
An avid bowler, she earned many trophies. Sharon enjoyed singing in the church choir along with her time working at the Military Veteran's Museum in the office.
She leaves behind her dear mother Helen; beloved husband Donald; Aunts: Geraldine Wollangk, Rhea Wollangk, and Helen Greenman; 11 cousins; brother-in-law, Bryon Jowett of Virginia Beach; niece, Cindy Martinez; cousin, Bob Rothe; many other family members and her special companion, Piper. Her father preceded her in death.
A celebration of her life will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on Monday, August 23rd. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm with a service lead by Rev. Jakes Voker at 7:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park on Tuesday morning at 10:00 am.
