Shirley L. Angwin, age 65 of Oshkosh, passed away at home with her husband by her side on Thursday, August 14, 2008. She was born in Springfield, Illinois on August 22, 1942 to the late John and Theresa (Young) Thomas. On October 17, 1964 she married Richard "Dick" Angwin.

Shirley worked at O'Rourke Tax Service, Inc. for the past 19 years and was an officer of the company. She was also a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals. As a tax practitioner, she was dedicated to her clients and became a friend to many of them.

She was adventurous, unselfish, compassionate and always diplomatic. She was generous with her time as a volunteer for the Oshkosh Youth Soccer League, Oshkosh Symphony League and Boy Scouts of America. She spent many hours obtaining sponsors for the Oshkosh Youth Soccer League when it was in its formative years. She loved traveling with her family, gardening, arranging flowers and shopping for good deals everywhere. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved butterflies and white puffy clouds.

Shirley will be dearly missed by those who survive her: husband of 43 years, Dick Angwin; daughter, Tracy (John) Foley of St. Paul, Minnesota; son, Troy Angwin of New York City, New York; sisters: Tara (Mike) Quimby and Teresa Thomas of Springfield, Illinois; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and John Thomas, her sister, Joan Flentje and niece, Julie Novak.

A special thank you to the UW-Madison Hospital Oncology, Neurological Surgery and Radiation Oncology teams, Bethel Home and Affinity Visiting Nurses for providing excellent care to Shirley.
