Shirley A. Krueger, age 83, of Oshkosh, died Thursday morning, January 8, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on June 4, 1931, in Winneconne, the daughter of William J. and Josephine B. (Greiner) Krings, Shirley married Ronald L. Krueger on October 1, 1949, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Winneconne.
She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish (St. Vincent Catholic Church) in Oshkosh and a past member of Christ Child Society. Shirley enjoyed knitting and crocheting items for the enjoyment of others, reading, and completing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include four children, Dr. James R. (Marilyn) Krueger of Evansville, Indiana, Steven J. (Marla) Krueger of Oshkosh, Kathryn A. (Michael) Swederske of Oshkosh, and Lori J. (Norbert III) Kroening of Oshkosh; two grandchildren, Jennifer M. (Jeffrey) Krueger of Madison and Dr. Kristin L. (Daniel) Krueger-Vinson of Morton Grove, Illinois; and three great-grandchildren, Noah S. Krueger, Sophia M. Krueger, and Eleanor Krueger-Vinson. Preceding Shirley in death were her parents and siblings, Joseph W. Krings, Edna K. Krings, William A. Krings, Sylvia Ostertag, Donald Krings, and Howard F. Krings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude the Apostle Parish, St. Vincent Catholic Church, 1255 Oregon Street, with Reverend Mathew Simonar officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
