Shirley Mae Lee passed away at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the age of 80. She was born in Oshkosh on October 18, 1928, the oldest of four daughters born to Arthur A. and Edna (Klieist) Schuetz. She graduated from Oshkosh High School. On February 12, 1956 she married John Lee.
A member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Shirley participated in the Legion of Mary, Christian Women of St. Mary, and an Associate of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother. In addition to countless hours of volunteer work, Shirley enjoyed quilting and playing sheepshead.
Surviving Shirley are her daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Ochowicz and Elizabeth Lee of Oshkosh; former husband, John Lee; sister, Audrey Sosinski of Oshkosh; nieces and nephews: William (Becky) Hayes, Carol (Russ) Hayes Reinders, Roxanne (Gene) Block, Brian (Connie) Schuetz, Robert Percey, Ruth Percey, Steve Sosinski, Ray (Julie) Sosinski, Wally (Penny) Sosinski, and John (Jenny) Sosinski; many great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives. Preceding Shirley in death are her parents and two sisters, Beverly (Henry) Hayes and Donna (Wilson) Percey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Mary site, 605 Monroe Ave. A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held at the church, on Wednesday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
