Shirley Mae Lux, 74, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 with family at her bedside. Shirley was born on June 30, 1928 in Omro at home by midwife Mathie Fink. She was the daughter of Hiram & Isabel (Fink) Coates. Shirley fought a courageous battle with cancer. She married the late William Lux on March 30, 1954 in California. Shirley was a devoted wife, stay at home mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings, car rides, reading, and shopping.
Shirley Mae Lux is survived and will be remembered by her 4 sons: Philip (Sherry) Lux, David (Shari) Lux, Jeffrey (Kathy Thomas) Lux, and Timothy (Elizabeth) Lux all of Omro, 2 daughters; Kathy (Robert) Seeliger of Appleton and Pamela (William) Wesner of Winneconne, grandchildren: Rachel Martin, Melissa Lux, Cristina Lux, Cory (Jessica Stafford) Lux, Jaysen Lux, Jamie Lux, Jodi Lux, Vanessa Lux, Zachary Lux, Amber Seeliger, & Becky & Jessie Thomas; great-grandchildren; Jason Martin & Brandi Stafford, brother; Tom Coates and sister; Jessie (Jim) Passer. She will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lux, parents, Hiram & Isabel (Fink) Coates, sisters, Betty Costello & Ian Coates and brother, Bob Coates.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2003 at the Omro Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Mattern officiating. Burial will follow in the Omro Cemetery. A memorial in Shirley's name has been established.
