Shirley Ann Nerenhausen, age 87, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. Shirley was born on November 5, 1928, to the late Joseph and Zeta (Brier) Housner. She married James L. Nerenhausen on September 8, 1951, in Oconto, Wisconsin. Shirley graduated from Marquette University, with a degree in Botany. She later went on to travel the world, and loved to share her travel experiences with women's groups in the area. Shirley was also an avid reader, and had a great interest in history.
She is survived by her husband; two sons: Jay (Kris) Nerenhausen of Oshkosh, and Glenn Nerenhausen of New Orleans; two grandchildren: Joshua West, and Sara Nerenhausen; and a sister, Mary Angelich of Texas. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
Per Shirley's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and nurses at Eden Meadows, and Generations Hospice, for their wonderful care of Shirley over the years.
