Shirley A. Schuhart, age 65, of Omro, died Wednesday evening, March 24, 2010, at Aurora Medical Center. Born on June 12, 1944, in Oshkosh, to Sherwin G. and Irene L. (Gauger) Stroebel, Shirley married William R. Schuhart on August 26, 1967 at Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church.
An employee of Bemis-Curwood BSF for 24 years, Shirley worked in the inventory control office. She was a member of First Congregational Church and the Bell Choir, Encore Bell Choir, and a past member of Oshkosh Choraliers. Shirley's love of music started when she was just five years old, playing the accordion. Favorite past-times included singing, fishing, craftwork, cooking (especially pie-making), and golfing.
Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband, Bill Schuhart of Omro; two sons, David (Stephanie Thorne) Schuhart of Tallahassee, Florida, and Kevin (fiancee Sharon Fleck) Schuhart of Oshkosh; three step-grandchildren, Becky, Justin, and Nick; a sister, Pat (John) Rabe of Oshkosh; her mother-in-law, Millie Schuhart; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dan) Van Dyke of Appleton and Rosemary (Mike) Sammons of Oshkosh; and nieces and nephews. Preceding Shirley in death are her parents.
A time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the church with Reverend Ralph DiBiasio-Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials honoring Shirley's life may be given to Encore Bell Choir in her name.
