Obituary
Shirley M. Stahl, age 86, of Omro, died early Friday morning, January 25, 2013, at Theda Clark Medical Center. Shirley was born March 24, 1926, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Albert and Meta (Prong) Ott. She married George A. Stahl on February 13, 1943, in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2000. Shirley & her husband owned and operated the Dairy Bar, The Sportmans Restaurant and then The Youth Center, all in Omro. Shirley had worked as a purchasing agent for Wisconsin Ordinance Works for many years. After her retirement she had worked for and volunteered at the yearly EAA Convention. She enjoyed scrap booking, sewing, bowling and golfing. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and her many friends.
Shirley is loved and will be missed by her children, Jeffrey (Linda) Stahl of Florida, Karen (Jerry) Fenner of North Dakota; grandchildren, Jason (Shelle) Feldner of North Dakota, Jody (David) Luft-Grond of Omro, Jamie Luft of Oshkosh, Jon (Lisa) Luft of Florida; great grandchildren, Hardy, Heather, Michael, Niki and Alexa; great great granddaughter, Audrey; brother, Roy Ott; sister, Beverly (Dottie) Blake; other relatives, friends and her canine companion, Pokey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Judith Luft and infant daughter, Carol Ann.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, 720 Jackson Ave., Omro, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lake View Memorial Park. If desired memorials in Shirley's name may go to The Oshkosh Humane Society.
A special thank you to Chrissy Meinen and Stacy Voss for their care and companionship to Shirley and to Jody Luft, Shirley's grand daughter and caregiver. In Jody's words, "Grandma was my rock and now I have lost another part of my mom" Jody, she loved you dearly - Thank you for taking care of her.
