Stanley S. Johnson, of Oshkosh, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He was born in Chicago, IL on December 12, 1927 the son of the late Peter and Marjorie (Smith) Johnson. On the day of his 18th birthday, Stan enlisted in the Navy and served for two years including being stationed in Saipan. On February 14, 1952 he married Charlene Stueckemann in Park Ridge, IL. Stan had a life-long interest in the automobile business. He owned Stan Johnson Ford in Neenah from 1969 to 1980. He enjoyed golf, a good martini after, and NASCAR. Stan will be remembered for being a "Ford Man."
Stan is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlene; children, Kurt (Peggy) Johnson of Oshkosh and Jill Johnson; grandchildren: Matthew Mead, Derek (Kim) Johnson and Jamie (Jason) Rymer; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Douglas (Debbie) Johnson. He was preceded by his brothers, Richard and Lowell Johnson.
The memorial visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Seefeld Funeral Home, Oshkosh. Burial with military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at RIVERSIDE CEMETERY, APPLETON.
A memorial fund in Stan's name is being established for the Wounded Warrior Project.
