Stanley J. Palecek, age 55, of Wild Rose, formerly of Omro, died unexpectedly Monday, February 6, 2012. Stan was born in Oshkosh on August 13, 1956, the son of Ruben and Eileen (King) Palecek. He grew up in Omro and was educated in the Omro School System. He married Patti Rohan on October 8, 1977 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Omro. He worked at Arvin Meritor, then had his own contracting business for 15 years, P&P Sales & Service. Stan was a generous individual who enjoyed helping people. If you ever needed anything, you could count on Stan. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball. Stan was a 25 year faithful member of the Omro Rushford Volunteer Fire Dept. His generous spirit was exemplified by his organizing poker runs that benefited numerous charities.
Stan is loved and will be missed by his wife, Patti; children, Amy (Jeff) Hill of Omro, Kyle (Amanda) Palecek and his soon to be born grandson of Omro; his mother, Eileen Palecek of Omro; brother and sisters, Mark (Pat) of Winneconne, Cindy of Oshkosh, Joan McMullin of Round Lake, IL; brothers and sisters in law, Gene (Janniece) Rohan of Omro, Bob (Mickie) Rohan of Omro; nieces and nephews, Tim (April) Palecek, Erin Palecek, Bryce McMullin, Becca McMullin, Doug Rohan, Debbie (Scott) Wagner, Dawn Rohan, Deanna Rohan, Nikki (Tom) Dobberstein, Trista (Ryan) Rahn, Erin (Jeff) Lang; great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, many close friends, and his canine pals, Jackyl and Coco Puff. He was preceded in death by his dad, and mother in law and father in law, Pat & Ginny Rohan.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 10, 2012 at the funeral home in Omro from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Fr. Luke Ferris and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Per Stan's wishes, there will be a party celebrating Stan's life on Saturday at the Omro Rushford Volunteer Fire Dept. in Omro from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
Stan will be remembered for his generous spirit, open invitation to a bonfire and Wednesday night piss & moans.
