Sue E. Schoenwetter was called home on Thursday, July 26, 2007. She was born in Sterling, Illinois, on July 25, 1918, a daughter of Emil and Hazel (Presbrey) Viering.
Sue attended Monmouth College and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She joined Robert Schoenwetter in holy matrimony on December 2, 1944. Sue was a devote member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Her memory will live on through the love of her husband, Dr. Robert Schoenwetter of Oshkosh; daughters, Jody (Bob) Orthey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jill Sperry of Yorkville, Illinois, and Jane (Larry) Johnson of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Chris (Alessandra) Orthey, Marni (Ryan) Lamberty, Janie (Zac) Rockett, Karen (Brian) Weber, Andrew (fiancee Gretchen Harris) Sperry, Tim, Mike, Dave and Annie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Annelise, Isabella and Alex Orthey, Eden Lamberty, Megan and Claire Weber; brother, Lawrence (Mary Lou) Viering; and special friend, Dorothy Johson of Oshkosh. Her parents, 2 sisters, a brother and a son-in-law, Tom Sperry, preceded her in death.
Our family extends our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Evergreen Retirement Community for their loving care. A private memorial service will be held in August.
