Susan M. "Sue" Baardsen, age 55, of Oshkosh, died Sunday morning, November 13, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. Born on May 21, 1956, in Oshkosh to Richard and Patricia (Dubinski) Smith, Sue married Thor Baardsen on September 18, 1982, in Oshkosh.
Employed as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Medical Center, Sue was a 1st Degree Black Belt in karate. Family and friends were an important part of Sue's life as were the three family dogs that accompanied her on nature outings. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a past Sunday School Teacher.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Thor Baardsen; a son, Christopher (Rachael) Baardsen; her mother, Patricia Smith; three brothers, Harold (Linda) Smith, Keith Smith, and Kurt (Serena) Smith; two sisters, Cynthia Kienert and Roxanne (Jeff) Lotke; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Sue in death is her father.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in Seefeld Family of Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend David Pagel officiating. Interment will follow the services at Riverside Cemetery. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Thursday from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
