Obituary

Susan E. Ward, age 49, of Oshkosh, died Friday evening October 17, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family at Eden Meadows. She was born December 11, 1964, in Oshkosh, the daughter of William and Diana (Goetschius) Swenson. Sue married Roger Ward on December 14, 1994. Sue was the sort of person who saw the potential for good in everyone she met. It wasn't in her nature to give up on people. This faith not only made her a source of strength for her family, but became her life's work. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and spent years helping others achieve their own potential. Sue loved nature, and took great joy in family trips to the South Dakota Black Hills. She particularly enjoyed watching the wildlife and the drama of evening thunderstorms. But none of those experiences were complete unless she was sharing them with the family that she adored. She made everything, from family dinners to football games, more fun because of the open pleasure she took in sharing the experience with others.
Sue is loved and will be missed by her husband, Roger; daughter, Kendra; grandson, Ryder; step daughters, Kaitlin (Kendal), Bonnie (Nat); step sons; Jeremy (Michelle), & Matthew; brother, Harold; sister, Patricia; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Davis), Heather (Dustin) and Chris; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Michael, and nephew, Michael.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Timothy W. Routh officiating.
