Sylvia J. Berwald, age 70, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 3, 2012. She was born in Oshkosh on February 20, 1942 the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Getzel. On September 2, 1961 she married her husband of 51 years, Jerry. Sylvia worked at Lakeside Elementary School for the past 18 years as the "Lunch Lady." Prior to that she worked at SNC Manufacturing for many years. Her cherished time outdoors included camping, feeding the birds and gardening.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Jerry; children: Gary (Lorie) Berwald of Park Falls, Jody (James) Schaick of Oshkosh; and Greg (Loretta) Esterly of Boyertown, PA; grandchildren: Jessica, Cody and Kyle of Park Falls, Erin of Nashua, New Hampshire, Sam of Oshkosh, and Hannah, Seth and Liam of Boyertown, PA; and sister, Elaine (Robert) Schwartz of Ripon. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, and her beloved companion, Gemma.

The memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Seefeld Funeral Home, with Chaplain Pamela Werth officiating.
