Thomas E. Faust, age 72, of Omro, passed away early Monday morning, June 27, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. Tom fought a short battle with cancer before the angels wrapped him in their wings and took him. He was born March 6, 1944 in Oshkosh the son of William and Elsie (Wacholtz) Faust.Tom had worked and retired from Neenah Foundry after 40 + years of service. He married Jeanne Schafer on June 21, 2003 in Omro. Tom was the manager of the Omro Food Pantry and a dedicated volunteer in various clubs in the Omro Community. He enjoyed the Wisconsin Badgers, Green Bay Packers and Omro Foxes. Tom liked to spend time gardening, traveling, hunting and spending time with family and friends.Tom is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children, Dan (Candice) Faust, Michelle (Jim) Tollard; grandson, Cole; extended family, Shelley Schafer and her two daughters, Jennifer King, Nichole (Keith) Turinski, their children Jacob Sprenger, August Turinski, Clayton Schultz & Wyllow Turinski, David (Dawn) Schafer and their children, Clint, Cole and Cale (Shannon) Schafer; seven brothers, Bernard (Bonnie), Arthur, David, William Jr., Gordon (Carrie), Dennis, Ronald; three sisters, Audrey Elmers, Joyce Schneider and Shirley (Jon ) Badtke. Tom is further survived by the mother of his children, Marcia Bishop, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Elsie (Wacholtz) Faust, two brothers, Carroll & Robert, three sisters in law, Nancy, Ruth and Joanne and one brother in law, Robert Schneider.Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 730 Madison Ave., Omro from 3:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Edward Looney officiating.A memorial in Tom's name is being established for several of his favorite charities.The family would like to thank the Doctors at Affinity Oncology Cancer Center as well as the nurses and staff on the 2nd floor at Mercy Medical Center for the support, comfort and care given to Tom and his family during his last days.
